The Miracle on Kansas Avenue Parade is an annual holiday parade celebration in Downtown Topeka. Typically held in the first weekend in December, this event features lighted floats, marching bands, Santa Claus, and more. The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, a Christmas Village with vendors and entertainment, and even fireworks are often included in the evenings festivities.
The parade starts at 10th and Kansas Avenue, travels north on Kansas Avenue to 7th Street, then turns west to end at Harrison Street.
Yes, attendance is free for spectators to watch the procession and enjoy the holiday lights.
The parade will continue in light rain or snow. Updates for severe weather will be shared on Downtown Topeka social media pages.
Public parking is available in downtown garages and on surrounding streets.
There are several ways to participate: enter a float, march as part of a band, be a vendor at the Christmas Village around Evergy Plaza, nominate parade honorees, or sponsor the parade. Check out our links above or contact John Koop at john.koop@topekapartnership.com.
