The Trespass Form serves as written documentation that an individual has been notified they are not permitted to return to the property. Should they return, it allows law enforcement to take appropriate action for criminal trespass. Its purpose is to protect business owners, staff, and customers while strengthening collaboration with law enforcement.
In partnership with downtown businesses and local law enforcement to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.
Any business owner, property manager, or authorized employee may complete and issue the form. The City is not the issuing authority—this is a private business tool.
Incident Occurs
Someone causes a disturbance, damages property, steals, or refuses to leave after being asked.
Verbal Warning
The business or responding officer tells the person they are no longer allowed on the property.
Complete the Form
If law enforcement is present, they may sign as a witness.
If the Person Returns
Contact law enforcement immediately and provide a copy of the form. Officers can then take enforcement action (citation or arrest) for criminal trespass.
The ban applies only to your business property, not to the entire downtown area.
• Stay calm and professional when issuing a ban.
• Keep a copy for your records.
• Inform nearby businesses or DTI if the same individual has caused multiple issues.
