Clean and Safe Task Force

Clean & Safe is a new initiative for Downtown Topeka in 2023. The task force includes downtown professionals, business owners, residents, and Topeka Police Officers who want to see the area continue to thrive.  Through this task force, we’re looking to take a proactive approach to addressing challenges that commercial corridors across the country tend to face, before any of those challenges become potential issues here in Downtown Topeka.

While a lot of the work we are doing is focused on preventative measures, we are aware that there are still incidents that may occur.  It is vital as a district we begin to document all the incidents in one place if possible.  There seems to be a general feeling that if an incident is small, or if an expected emergency response time is too slow, incidents may go unreported.  To get an accurate picture of the state of our district, please consider reporting all incidents to notify@downtowntopekainc.com. These incidents can be anything from vandalism, theft, disruptive behaviors, safety issues, etc.
